I`m always being asked questions of how I stay in shape, or what I use on my skin. So I thought I`d share some things that I think work and are important in my life. Being a busy mom of 3, my day revolves around them. So if it`s just going for a walk or hike, that’s something that we can do together.... I have a little trick I have done ever since I could remember. I tighten my tummy as often as I can. Tighten your muscles in your stomach whenever you think about it. When walking, going up stairs, shopping, or sitting in the car. Every time you remember it, do it. You will eventually get really good muscle tone; it also gives you great posture. Also don`t wait till your starving to eat. Your body will hold on to the fat. It won`t know when it`s going to get food again. Your metabolism will then slow down. Think of your body as a fire burning. If you keep throwing a log in before the fire dies out, it burns longer and faster, same with your metabolism. If you let the fire die out, then throw in a whole bunch of wood, then what happens? It takes a long time before it starts to burn again. So eat small meals or healthy snacks often, at least 6 times a day. Also make food your friend, love it, and don’t resent it. Think of it as fuel and energy. Its positive not negative. Then stop worrying about your weight and it will stop being a problem. I think sometimes we focus on the wrong things. Of course you should take care of yourself. Be sensible; walk when you can, eat healthy when you can. Know that smoking ages you faster than anything. Alcohol dehydrates and bloats you. So don’t over indulge in things you know are bad for you. A little here and there is o.k. But don’t constantly think bad thoughts about yourself, like I`m so fat, or I don’t like this or that about myself. You’re putting energy in the wrong place. Learn to appreciate yourself and your body, in whatever ways you can. You mothers out there. You should feel proud and awed by how amazing and sacred your body is. For actually giving life. Think about that! That’s as close to god as we can be. We are creators, that’s awesome. It`s after I had given birth that I began to love and respect my body. So, ladies be proud of yourself and all you’re capable of. And for my skin I always wear sun protection on my face, it`s super important. And exfoliate, maybe once a week and keep your skin hydrated. Use moisturizers with vitamin,A,C and E, they work the best at rejuvenating cell growth and bring back that natural shine to your skin. Don’t use powders or heavy make up on your skin, opt for a tinted moisturizer, concealer just where necessary. It’s much prettier. Less is better in the case of make-up. Maybe a little mascara, blush, and a little color and gloss on the lips. That’s all you need. Then I would also suggest feeling gratitude for something in your life, whatever it might be and build on that. When you feel beautiful in the inside, you shine even brighter on the outside! Sending you love today and always, Elisabeth
