In the wake of the one year anniversary of the tragedy that struck Norway, and to see and hear about the tragedy that has happened in Aurora Colorado. I felt the need to write a few words.
Being here last year and watching this country grieve. Was an experience I will never forget. In the midst of so much sorrow, I saw something beautiful. I never felt so proud to be a Norwegian. The evil that happened in Oslo and in Utoya didn’t have a chance to touch the force of love that is in the hearts of the people who live here. This country rose above the darkness and shared their love with each other like I have never seen before. Hand in hand they sang, rejoiced and stood by one another. Always in love.
I don’t think we can ever understand why something like this happens. How one person can hurt and kill so many innocent people and affect the lives of so many all over the world. It’s in times like this that we need to be there for one another. Show compassion and love, give support and help each other out from the darkness.
I’ve been thinking, if one person can do so much harm. Then think about the greatness one is capable of. One person can make a difference. Nothing travels faster than light so start with you. Stand up against the darkness, and be the light you were born to be...Make a difference in someone’s life. It’s a ripple effect. Remember a waterfall starts with just one drop of water.
Sending out my love, Elisabeth
